Entry to L2, L3, M1 - excluding apprenticeships
**Who is concerned?
This procedure is reserved for students from France or the European Union, currently enrolled in higher education in France or the European Union, who already hold a degree or diploma, or who have professional experience relevant to their course of study. International candidates with refugee status are also eligible for this application procedure.
International applicants from outside the European Union are eligible only if they already hold a French higher education diploma. Applicants who do not hold or are in the process of obtaining a French higher education diploma are not eligible for this application process: they must go through the Demande d'Admission Préalable (DAP).
For students already enrolled in a school of architecture for the current year, the procedure to be followed is that of incoming transfers.
Submit your application via the external admissions portal Taïga. Select Ensa Paris-Est and create a file.
Application fee: €37 by bank transfer rib, not applied to scholarship students with proof.

**Admission criteria
- Hold a baccalaureate (or European equivalent) and a French or European higher education diploma (equivalent to at least a Bac + 2 or higher, depending on the year of application);
- Have interrupted their studies at a French ENSA (for more than 3 years in the case of exclusion);
- Proof of professional experience, internship, knowledge or skills acquired outside training;
- Demonstrate mastery of the computer tools and software expected of ENSA students at the level required (see the student handbook).
*Additional information for international applicants
International applicants must provide proof of French language proficiency, either :
- Diplôme d'Études de Langue Française (DELF), level B2 ;
- Diplôme Approfondi de Langue Française (DALF), level C1;
- Or the Test de Connaissance en Français (TCF) DAP (overall score greater than or equal to 420 and greater than or equal to 12/20 - written and oral).
To apply for admission to a Bachelor's degree program (Licence)
Applicants may apply for either Licence 2 or Licence 3. The relevant committee guides applicants into L2 or L3 according to their profile and professional experience.
Candidates admitted to the program must have obtained 60 ECTS by the start of the academic year for admission to L2, and 120 ECTS for admission to L3.
Candidates wishing to apply for both full-time and apprenticeship training must submit two applications. Candidates wishing to apply for both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree must also submit two applications.
Selection committees will not switch between applications.
Desired experience and possible career paths for entry into the Bachelor's program.
Applicants must demonstrate that their Bachelor's degree at ENSA Paris-Est is a coherent part of their career path. Applicants must have at least one year's experience in spatial design during their studies and/or at least one month's professional experience in spatial design or project management.
Examples of training courses accepted (non-exhaustive list, only the relevant commission is authorized to judge the admissibility of an application): professional bachelor's degrees, BTS in building and the environment, Agencement de l'environnement architectural, DNMADE, DUT Génie Civil, DNSEP Étude et réalisation d'agencement, DNAT Design d'espace, Licence Arts appliqués, Design en aménagement intérieur, en paysage... interior design courses from ENSAD or BOULLE, assistant architects EPSAA, DSAA Design d'espace...
**To apply for admission to Master 1
Candidates must apply for admission to Master 1; no admission to Master 2 is possible. Candidates admitted to the program must, however, have obtained 180 ECTS by the start of the academic year in order to be admitted to M1.
Candidates wishing to apply for both full-time and apprenticeship training must submit two applications. Candidates wishing to apply for both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree must also submit two applications.
Selection committees will not switch between applications.

In addition to demonstrating the coherence of the reorientation into a Master's program at ENSA Paris-Est, candidates must also demonstrate their ability to format and present work and ideas in an intelligible way, and to grasp questions of space and its representation, as well as questions of scale.
Examples of accepted training (non-exhaustive list, only the relevant committee is empowered to judge the admissibility of an application): applied arts bachelor's degrees, arts and crafts diplomas, etc.

- A cover letter clearly outlining the applicant's academic background, explaining and justifying the choice of an academic reorientation and the decision to pursue a course of study at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris-Est (format A4 recto-verso maximum - PDF);
- A curriculum vitae describing the applicant's academic and professional background (PDF format);
- A portfolio of work: showing a selection of completed projects. Ideas must be presented in an intelligible way. The portfolio should demonstrate mastery of issues relating to space, scale and their representation (format of portfolio: A4 - PDF, maximum 19.8 MB);
- Copies of school reports and diploma(s) (single PDF file).
- a letter of motivation with 2 choices of major (clearly indicate "choice 1" and "choice 2" with a motivation for each choice), arguing the positions, the choice of an academic reorientation and the choice to continue one's studies at ENSA Paris-Est (format one A4 recto-verso maximum - PDF);
- an official language certificate, level B2 (to be provided no later than the first day of the academic year)
*Special cases
- Candidates with scholarships must also submit their final scholarship certificate for 2024-2025 to be exempted from the application fee.
- Candidates who have been granted refugee status must also submit supporting documents proving that they have been granted refugee status.
- International applicants must submit proof of French language proficiency.

Selection procedure
Eligible applications will be examined by a selection committee.
This commission will evaluate the applications, and draw up a list of candidates selected for an admission interview with a panel of judges, which will take place on Wednesday March 26, 2025 at the school (remote on request and with proof of identity only for candidates living outside mainland France).
Interviews last between 15 and 20 minutes. Candidates must provide the jury with their portfolio, which will serve as a guideline for the interview.
Admission results will be announced in June 2025. In the case of Licence or multiple applications, admitted candidates will be notified, by decision of the admissions jury, of their year of admission (Licence 2 or 3 or Master 1) and/or their course of study (full-time or apprenticeship).
A supplementary list may be drawn up depending on the number of applicants. Unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by e-mail.
