A reflection on the relationship between form and meaning, developed from a metaphor concerning the relationship between theory and practice and through a series of projects by the architectural practice Baukuh.
Paolo Carpi studied architecture at the IUAV, where he graduated with honours in 2004. Paolo Carpi is one of the founding partners of the architectural practice Baukuh; he is also a co-founder of the international architecture journal San Rocco.
In 2019, he was awarded his PhD by the University of Genoa. Paolo Carpi has taught at the Faculty of Architecture in Genoa, at the Politecnico di Milano and in various international workshops. He joined ENSA Paris-Est at the start of the 2025–2026 academic year to teach the project module on the third year of the apprenticeship-based Bachelor’s degree programme.
