Organised by the Ministry of Culture and ENSA Paris-Est, the three architecture evenings aim to raise awareness of architectural research amongst professionals in the field, to foster collaboration between architects and researchers, and to present existing schemes (CIFRE, CICO, CIR, etc.) to explore new avenues of cooperation. They will take place in Paris and then in the regions between October 2026 and January 2027.

Each, with its own approaches and methods, contributes to informing discussions on the major themes of the profession and the discipline of architecture. Conceived as a forum for exchange at the heart of the Maisons de l’architecture, the three evenings will bring together different perspectives and facilitate the sharing of knowledge between researchers and professionals.

Investigating, experimenting, conceptualising: each evening will explore a specific theme, whether it be housing, materials and their supply chains, or the practices that are currently shaping the knowledge of architects and architecture.

Schedule and themes

First evening:
Monday 5 October
at the Maison de l’architecture d’Île-de-France
Theme: ‘Housing’
linked to the exhibition Le logement pièce par pièce (11 September – 18 October)

• 5.00 pm – 6.30 pm: Workshop
• 7.00 pm – 8.00 pm: Round-table discussion

The programme for the following two evenings is currently being finalised and will be announced shortly.

Format of the evenings

The format of the architecture research evenings is the same for all three events:

• In-person workshops bringing together different stakeholders to discuss the defined theme (PhD students, research units and architectural practices)
• A live-streamed round-table discussion showcasing successful collaborations and best practice (3 to 4 speakers)

In addition, a series of webinars will be organised on existing schemes that promote cooperation between academic research and architectural practices (Cifre, Cico, CIR, etc.).
