Based in Brussels and founded between 2003 and 2006, AgwA mainly carries out projects for the public sector and collective entities, focusing on adaptive rehabilitation, complex situations and mixed-use developments. Their designs anticipate the long-term evolution of a building by adapting to changes in use and context. While creating remarkable spatial arrangements, AgwA proposes a clear, functional architecture that favors simple building materials and structures.

Filip Dujardin is an architectural photographer and visual artist. His artistic work is inspired by the concept of architecture as a cultural phenomenon. This translates into various media such as photography, digital photo collages, installations and spatial objects. His work has been exhibited in Belgium and abroad, notably at the Musée de la Photographie de Charleroi, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and MoMA in New York and San Francisco.

As part of ENSA Paris-Est's new lecture series entitled About authorship & collaborations, the architecture studio AgwA will be holding a dialogue with photographer Filip Dujardin on the occasion of the opening of the monographic exhibition Dispositions. The exchange will focus on the renovation project for the Palais des Expositions in Charleroi, followed step-by-step by the photographer through thirteen photographic series documenting and reinterpreting the transformation.

Through this cross-view between architects and photographer, the talk will explore the notion of "dispositions" - as spatial structures (arrangement in space), know-how (having dispositions), intention (good dispositions) and precision (particular dispositions) - at the heart of AgwA's approach and the exhibition presented.

Cycle
Proposed by architects and teachers Anne Klépal and Philippe Vander Maren, the Tuesday Lessons cycle About authorship & collaborations explores architecture as a collective and transdisciplinary practice, where hybridization and multiple collaborations profoundly redefine the making of the project and our ways of inhabiting the world.
