The possibility of a landscape

Winter School
Zabou Carrière is a graduate of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels de la Cambre (Brussels), where she studied under Gilbert Fastenaekens. She initially focused on press photography before turning her attention to personal projects. The training she received at La Cambre and her experience as a reporter intertwine in a style of photography that is both documentary and intimate, questioning the notion of boundaries. The boundary where fiction meets reality. The one that compels the gaze and questions ambiguity. The one that attracts and repels.
She collaborated on the collective project to create stained-glass windows for the millennium of Strasbourg Cathedral alongside Véronique Ellena and co-directed, with Taina Tervonen, the documentary Trnopolje, a Forgotten Summer, which recounts the camps and post-war Bosnia.
As part of the Winter School 2026, curated by architects Vanessa Pointet & Thibaut Pierron, co-founders of the Sub agency, who have chosen The Arts of the Environment as their theme.
