Soundscapes: listening and sharing

Winter School
Introduced to spatialised music at the age of 15 by Pierre Boulez at the KKL in Lucerne and now an artist associated with IRCAM, Nadine Schütz describes herself as a composer of spaces. A qualified architect (ETH Zurich) and holder of a PhD in acoustic landscape, she divides her artistic practice between Switzerland and France. Her work involves choreographing soundscapes and spatial environments, in dialogue with their urban, natural and human contexts. Her works and sound installations reveal the sensory identity of places and enrich the experience of users. In 2024, she made a name for herself alongside Marc Mimram with a monumental, weather-responsive work on the Pleyel overpass in Saint-Denis, affirming an innovative vision of living sound architecture.
As part of the 2026 Winter School, curated by architects Vanessa Pointet & Thibaut Pierron, co-founders of the Sub agency, who have chosen ‘The Arts of the Environment’ as their theme.
