Transfers

    Who is concerned?
    This procedure is reserved exclusively for students already enrolled in one of France's national schools of architecture (ENSA).

    Except in cases of force majeure, transfers during the course of the cycle are not possible. In all cases, transfer to another school is subject to the school's capacity.

    The transfer procedure is paperless, and accessible via the student portal Taïga.

    Submit the application via the applicant's student portal Taïga, in the transfer section. Select 2024/2025 and create your file.

    Documents to be submitted
    For entry to the Bachelor's program via transfer A letter of motivation clearly stating the applicant's interest in the program.

    • A letter of motivation clearly showing the candidate's academic background, explaining and arguing the choice of an academic reorientation and the choice of pursuing a course of study at the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Paris-Est (in apprenticeship if applicable) (format A4 recto-verso maximum - PDF) ;

    For admission to the Master's program via transfer.

    • Two cover letters: one for the first two courses of study, explaining their position, the choice of an academic reorientation and the choice of continuing one's studies at ENSA de Paris-Est (in apprenticeship if applicable) (maximum format A4 recto-verso - PDF);

    For entry into the Structure & Architecture Master's program via transfer.

    • A cover letter explaining why you have decided to change academic direction and pursue your studies at ENSA de Paris-Est in the Structure & Architecture program (maximum format A4 recto-verso - PDF);

    For all transfer candidates

    • Complete the online form to indicate your choice of year and/or course (apprenticeship, Master's courses, Structure & Architecture course);
    • Copies of transcripts from the baccalaureate and undergraduate years at ENSA (one PDF only);
    • A portfolio of selected work (portfolio format: A4 - PDF, maximum 19.8 MB);
    • A curriculum vitae describing the applicant's academic and professional background (PDF format);

    Special cases

    • Candidates who have been granted refugee status must also submit supporting documents proving that they have been granted refugee status.
    • International applicants must submit proof of French language proficiency.

    Optional

    • All documents supporting the candidate's application (letter of recommendation, internship certificate, etc.).

    Selection procedure

    Any transfer will be subject to validation of the 2023/2024 year at the applicant's home school.

    For entry to L2 or L3 full-time courses .
    Transfers during cycles remain exceptional measures. Eligible applications will be examined by a competent committee and ranked. Admissions are subject to the school's capacity.
    Admission results will be announced in June 2024. Unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by e-mail.

    For admission to the L3 or M1 apprenticeship program, the M1 full-time program, or the Structure & Architecture program.
    Applications will be examined by a selection committee.
    This committee will evaluate the applications and draw up a shortlist of candidates for an interview with a panel of judges, which will take place on March 27, 2024 at the school (or remotely on request, with proof of identity only for candidates living outside mainland France).
    Interviews last between 15 and 20 minutes. Candidates must provide the jury with their portfolio, which will serve as a guideline for the interview.
    Admission results will be announced in June 2024. In the event of multiple applications, admitted candidates will be notified, by decision of the admissions jury, of their course of study (full-time or apprenticeship, and the stream; or Structure & Architecture).
    A supplementary list may be drawn up depending on the number of applicants. Unsuccessful applicants will also be notified by e-mail.
