Is an antique green marble more “a stone” than an antique green marmorino? Aren’t Neue Nationalgalerie and Altes Museum columns in Berlin “one” column, one culture phrased in languages, forms and building techniques a century and some lustrums apart? I am fascinated by these distant dialogues that seem to find substance in the specificity of relations among the parts even if buildings, as all human facts, can say something to a person, and another thing to another person.
