Conférence de Peter Veenstra, Lola Landscape Architects, Rotterdam

Peter Veenstra is a landscape architect and founding partner of LOLA landscape architects in Rotterdam. Even though LOLA stands for Lost Landscapes, which was born out of a fascination for the fringes of our urban environment, the practice of the office slowly moved into the world of big cities and big clients, which led to the design for places like the Adidas Headquarters campus, and Shenzhen's main waterfront, Shenzhen Bay Park. Through self-initiated studies and design researches, he keeps on working on topics that deserve more attention in the field of (landscape) architecture. With his office, he won the Maaskant Prize for Young Architects and the TOPOS landscape award.

Peter will talk about recent work on different scale levels, addressing individual experience, collective culture, and global problems. Even though we always feel motivated to finding our justification for design in all those aspects, each scale level has its own reach, limitations and potential impact.
