Rocio Calzado

    Rocío Calzado, a Spanish architect and political scientist based in Paris, is a doctoral student at École des Ponts et Chaussées and an associate lecturer at Ensa Paris-Est. Her research focuses on maintenance practices in architecture and urban planning, particularly in social housing, studying demolition and transformation processes.

    Co-founder of docar, a collective of documentary films on urban and architectural controversies, she participates in projects that explore European social housing, demolition, maintenance, and housing rights. The collective's films have been screened at the Venice Biennale, the MAXXI museum in Rome, and the Royal Academy in London.

    Rocío holds a degree in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and in public policy and ecological transition from Sciences Po Paris. She has worked in agencies such as MVRDV in Rotterdam, MQ Architecture in New York City, Tsukamoto Lab in Tokyo, Ezquiaga Arquitectura in Madrid, and the AUC in Paris. Her work has been presented at the United Nations World Urban Forum and published in specialist journals. Rocío is a member of the LATTS laboratory (ENPC, CNRS, UGE), a fellow of the Palladio Foundation, and a member of the European LINA Community network.

    Rocio Calzado has been teaching the S5 bachelor's thesis at Ensa Paris-Est since 2024 and the S6 project since the start of the 2025-2026 academic year.
